Mini hotels aside, most hotels have restaurant. If vou are on a tour, it's meals will be included.
Per independent travelers, the area just west west of central Bai Chay along D Ha Long contains a reliable row of cheap restaurant, all of which serve up seafood daily All have tables inside and spill out onto the payment at night. These are good places to indulge in a beer in the absence of any real bars in town.
Asia restaurant ( D Vuon Dao)Located on 'holel alley slope. this is a popular place. The owner used to run a restaurant in East Berlin and speaks excellent German and pretty good English The Vietnamese food here is tasty and prices are reasonable.
In Hong Gai, check out the siring of local eateries along Pho Ben Doan, or try the stalls in and around the market.
