Fine Arts Museum

The beautiful hall that houses the Fine Arts Museum was built in 1845 and restored when tin museum was founded in 1923. The walls are inscribed with poems written in Nom (Vietnamese .script). The most precious artefacts were lost during the American War but the ceramics, furniture and royal clothing that remain are well worth the visit. On the left side of the hall is a royal sedan chair, a gong and a musical instrument consisting of stones hung on a two level rack. On the other side of the hall is the equipment for a favourite game of the emperors - the idea was to bounce a stick off a wooden platform into a tall, thin jug.
