Hue : Getting There & Away
Air The Vietnam Airlines booking office ( 823249) is at 12 D Hanoi and is open Monday to Saturday .from 7 to 11 am and 1.30 to 5 pm. . Several fligh ts a day connect Hue to Saigon and Hanoi. See The Domestic Vietnam Airfares
Bus Hue has three main bus stations: An Cuu at the roundabout at the south-eastern end of D Hung Vuong, which serves southern destinations; An Hoa, north-west of the Citadel on Highway 1, serving northern destinations and Dong Ba, a bus station next to Dong Ba Market. A minor bus station is Nguyen Hoang, which only has buses to Quang Tri Province, but there is talk of making it a tourist bus station.
Minibus Hue is a major target for tourist minibus companies and most backpackers travel this way. A popular run is the Hue-Hoi An minibus, which also stops in Danang. . Departure from either end is twice daily at 8 am and 1 pm, and there is usual ly a scenic, 10 minute stop at Lang Co Is land and Hai Van Pass. Hue-Hoi An or Hue-Danang tickets cost US$5.
Train Hue train station (Ga Hue, 822175) is on the east bank at the south-west end of D Le Loi. The ticket office is open from 7.30 am to 5 pm.
