Itinerary:

Description: 10 days from North West Region to Halong Bay: Hanoi, Son La, Dien Bien Phu, Lai Chau, Sapa, Bac Ha, Halong Bay and Hanoi

Recognized as the best mountain scenery by Lonely Planet, the North West is still of the most beautiful and intact region of Vietnam. Just a few years before, it was too challenging to touch for visitors of all ages. The North West region have now been unfolded to holiday-makers with new roads, new flights and modern comforts. Come and explore this astonishing region to discover its enchanting beauty, to enjoy its cool and relaxing weather, to share the excitement of fun and adventure, and to experience the quaint cultures of local ethnic minorities. The trip, a good balance of action and relaxation, is intended to help visitors bring home lasting memories. Make sure that the tour coincides with the Saturday & Sunday fairs in the Bac Ha area.

 

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
Arrive at Noi Bai Airport. Pick up and transfer to a hotel. Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, boasts tree-lined streets and centuries-old temples. An afternoon sightseeing tour features both cultural and historical highlights, comprising the Temple of Literature, the Ethnology Museum, the old quarters and a downtown predicable ride (1 hour). O/N in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Son La
Spend the whole day on coach relishing the new road through Hoang Lien Son Mountains to Son La (320km). Take a stop-over at Ta Khoa Bridge on Da River Lake with panoramic views of lake, forest and mountain. There are opportunities to enjoy the friendliness of the H’mong tribe en route. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show of Black Thai at Bo village. O/N in Son La.

Day 3: Son La – Dien Bien Phu
Before leaving for Dien Bien Phu (170km), visit Thuan Chau Market where Black Thai women gather to exchange all kinds of farm products and hand-weaving brocades. Stop by at Pha Din Pass, famous for its magnificent mountain scenery. In the afternoon, travel via Muong Phang, enjoy a short trek through dense forest (1km) to visit General Giap’s legendary tunnels. Thai villages surrounded by paddy fields are worth visiting en route. O/N in Dien Bien Phu.

Day 4: Dien Bien Phu – Lai Chau
Dien Bien Phu, a famous valley at an elevation of 550m by the Vietnam – Laos border. In the morning, explore Dien Bien Market and former battle field: Dien Bien Phu museum, Alliance Hill (A1 Hill), Nam Rom River and De Castries’ bunker. Transfer to Lai Chau (105km), a small town along Nam Lay Stream, encounter Red H’mong village en route. O/N in Lai Chau.

Day 5: Lai Chau – Sapa
Admire the beautiful Lai Ha Suspension Bridge and Hang Tom Suspension Bridge near Lai Chau Town. Leave for Sapa (180km) via a picturesque road along the Nam Na River and across Hoang Lien Son, the highest pass in Vietnam (2,047 metres). The rest of the day is free time to wander around Sapa Town, home to different hill-tribes. The evening entertainment is a tribal folk show at a bar. O/N in Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa
Take a morning soft-trek on flat pass to visit hill-tribe villages of Lao Chai & Ta Van along picturesque Muong Hoa valley. A trekking trail is over magnificent rice terraced fields, green valley, river and white roof-dotted houses by mountain sides. Get to know more about the daily life of local people (Black H’mong and Day), their ways of living and simple working tools. O/N in Sapa.

Day 7: Sapa –– Hanoi
Free out in the morning for visiting the nice market or see the local music show on HamRong mountain. Transfer to Lao Cai . Board the night train to Hanoi . Berths in air-conditioned compartments are provided. O/N on board.

Day 8: Hanoi – Halong
0830 Am : Pick up from your train station in Hanoi for a three-hour drive through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City on nice venture country lane.
12h30: Arrive in Halong City, Board Bai Thoi Junk, check-in registration .a refurbished wooden sailing junk for a cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay, giving us the chance to take in the stunning scenery of this World Heritage Site.
13h00: Have a Big fresh seafood lunch with welcome wine during the board is still taking us discover the Bay ..
14h00: A fantastic cruise in Ha Long bay , Stay on sundeck for sunbath or lying down to deep the feeling in scenery of World Heritage Site.
15h00. Cruise amongst stunning limestone back drop and round over Thien Cung cave , Dau Go cave, Tuan Chau island, and We live our boat to visit Sungsot cave for 1 hour.
16h00 :Before When the sun come down at 18h30 we drop anchor for the night in centre bay nearby a remoted island.
Optional swim at lovely beaches. Afternoon tea with pastries on the sundeck or in the restaurant and drink before dinner ,Return the pier and disembark the boat
Overnight on the Junk

Day 9: Halong-Hanoi
Rising to the sound of ocean coming to life for another lovely day. Breakfast
09h00 : Junk boat once again sets sail through breathtaking secluded Halong bay
10h00 : Visit Bai tu long Bay , Teapot island , Chopstiks island , Bai tho mountain.
12h00 : Return to Halong city and have lunch on board.
13h00 : Back to Halong wharf and disembark
Transfer back to Hanoi. Arrival Hanoi by 5pm. Drop off at your hotel.

Day 10: Departure from Hanoi
Spend last minutes for downtown shopping (ceramics, silver-carvings, silk,...) or at leisure before check-out. Transfer to the airport for departure
